Donated by designers and artists around the globe, posters sold here raise funds for victims of the wildfires that devastated Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties. All proceeds will be given to the Salvation Army, for the 2007 California Wildfire fund.
This project is modeled after the Hurricane Poster Project, an effort started for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Hugely successful, the project raised thousands of dollars since its inception. Its founder has graciously allowed us to use his model for helping Southern California residents.
Your buddy and mine, Josh Higgins, appeared on FOX 6 News showing off the latest of what the poster project had to offer. Many thanks to FOX 6 for showcasing these posters:
If you’re looking for that perfect gift that communicates the miracle of rebirth this weekend (I’m looking at you, big J), why not a poster that helps out victims of last October’s wildfires? It’s good for the home, and good for the heart.
Most posters ship within two days of the order. Depending on how close you are to San Diego, shipping times can range from one to two weeks. If you don’t see your poster after two weeks, let us know, and we’ll track it for you. We apologize for any delays, but this is a charity staffed by volunteers, after all.
Hi all! Sorry it’s been a while since the last update, but that doesn’t mean we’re not busy over here at Fire Poster Project Central. (Or my house. You know … whichever.)
We have five new posters coming soon, with editions arriving at our warehouse every week now. Bookmark your favorite poster if it’s not available yet, check back soon, and grab it before the crowds get here.
Our publicists at the McRae Agency are working hard to announce the project to the world! So far, we’ve been mentioned on plenty of fashionable and extremely intelligent blogs:
Many thanks to Bernie Tiano who recorded and uploaded the video! Bernie Tiano, everybody, online at http://bernietiano.com. Also, check out his very own contribution to the Fire Poster Project, called Relief, and still available for sale. A big round of applause to Josh, Lt. Col. O’Brien, and to Bernie!
Set your TiVos, because our very own Josh Higgins will be on San Diego’s Channel 7/39 at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 18, in a segment with reporter extraordinaire Kimberly King.
(Also, if someone out there in TV land has the capability of recording the segment and uploading it to YouTube, we will mention you and your website up down and sideways! Let us know in comments.)
Whew! What a list. People need help every day with basic necessities, medical care, cleanup, and things we can’t even imagine to start rebuilding their lives. Please buy one of these posters today (or two, or sixty) and help a family in need.
Arnie Holt, owner of Caffe Calabria in San Diego, has pledged to buy one of each poster — #3 in each multiple-print series —created for the So-Cal Fire Poster Project. We’re deeply thankful to Arnie and everyone at Caffe Calabria for their help with the project, and for supporting the community so generously.
(Don’t worry! The posters submitted by Shepard Fairey will still be available — there’s just one each of them.)
Nine new posters were added late yesterday! Five were donated from Shepard Fairey, and one each from Wink, MiresBall, Nick McPherson, and Bernie Tiano of Gabriel Ink. They’re not available for shipping quite yet, but they’ll be here soon. In the meantime, check them out!
Welcome to ReliefPosters.com! We’re beginning to receive posters from our contributing artists nationwide. You may notice that some of the posters on the site aren’t available for purchase yet: that’s because the artist is still in the process of getting the poster printed.
So far, the posters we have available for sale are:
If you don’t see the poster you want here, fear not! We’ll be adding posters every week, and the minute they arrive at our warehouse (powered by the kind people at Merch Lackey), you’ll be able to order them. I’ll also post a note here to let you know what’s ready to ship.
Be so kind as to subscribe to one of our many RSS feeds or check back often!
